Miley Cyrus is no stranger to reinvention, and her upcoming album Something Beautiful promises to be her most experimental project yet. In a recent Harper’s Bazaar cover story, Cyrus teased the 2025 release, describing it as a “visual album” that blurs the line between sound and sight.
The album, named after a song co-written with her boyfriend, Maxx Morando, reflects Cyrus’ signature personal touch. Morando, who also produced several tracks, played a key role in shaping the record. “Maxx inspires me so much,” she shared.
Cyrus describes Something Beautiful as “hypnotizing and glamorous,” with a deeper mission: to serve as a “human psychedelic” for listeners. “I want to impact frequencies in your body that make you vibrate at a different level,” she explained. Each track is infused with healing sound properties, exploring themes like heartbreak, destruction, and death, but presenting them as moments of beauty.

The album’s visual component takes center stage, driving its sound. Inspired by Pink Floyd’s The Wall and Nicolas Cage’s Mandy, Cyrus envisions a bold, cinematic approach. Collaborating with Mandy director Panos Cosmatos and producer Shawn Everett, she’s creating a world where high-fashion archives, like Thierry Mugler’s 1995 couture show, meet experimental pop.
Cyrus’ Something Beautiful promises to be a boundary-pushing masterpiece that blends music, visuals, and emotion into an unforgettable experience. Fans can expect an album that challenges conventions and celebrates the beauty in life’s shadows.
